Guys ... Really should also replace the shaft as well. It will make the gearing stay cool 'cause chances are the gears are worn on both sides of the equation... just saying.

Got the headgear mechanism apart finally and installed the new assembly. Worked perfectly. Next time I'll have it done in 10 minutes. Just ordered 2 more for my other hps.

Just got the handpiece back from a Dr. Purchased headgear assy in Aug 2013, These should last a lot longer than 6 months!! RESPONSE: Contacted manufacturer and they issued a fix for the heat issue
